Sunset+Vine tackles presenter broadcasting duties for the Twickenham double bill

Sunset+Vine was part of a big rugby weekend at Twickenham and had been appointed as host broadcaster by TEG Rugby Live to provide global feed coverage, as well as an additional production contract with S4C to provide a dedicated Welsh feed for S4C viewers.

The two major internationals took place at Twickenham, with the world champions Springboks beating Wales 52-16 for the Qatar Airways Cup. This mighty display was followed by a star-studded Barbarians team taking on Fiji for the Killik Cup, with the Barbarians coming out on top.

At the same time, Sunset+Vine Wales produced Welsh coverage of the South Africa v Wales match for S4C, adding bespoke presentation and commentary to the host feed.

Sunset+Vine’s production teams worked with EMG, who provided the OB facilities, and AE Live for the graphics.

For the world feed commentary team, Sunset+Vine has secured Martin Gillingham, Jamie Roberts, Nick Heath and Tom May, whose mix of expertise and experience delivered play-by-play action.

For the S4C coverage, Sarra Elgan was at the helm as presenter, with Gareth Charles and Gwyn Jones in the commentary box. They were also joined by guests Sioned Harries, Nicky Robinson and Mike Phillips to bring a range of voices and opinions to the Welsh audience.

Titus Hill, Executive Producer at Sunset+Vine, said: “Rugby is a passion for us at Sunset+Vine so we were delighted to host these two fantastic matches. It was a truly spectacular day of rugby.”

Cerith Williams, head of Sunset+Vine Wales, added: “Following our relationship in the Autumn Nations Series over the last few years, S+V Cymru were delighted to once again deliver international rugby to S4C – and deliver a world-class presentation additions and commentary to a world-class Host Broadcast feed.”
