La Crosse Loggers down Duluth Huskies in tough doubleheader

Duluth Huskies can’t stop the rise of La Crosse Loggers

The Duluth Huskies would not be able to get past the La Crosse Loggers in a doubleheader on Tuesday night. The Huskies fell 13-12 in the 10th inning of game one, then dropped game two 4-3 at Wade Stadium.

In game one, the Huskies scored six runs in the third inning and led 10-6 in the fifth. However, La Crosse scored a run in the seventh and then four in the eighth to take an 11-10 lead. Duluth tied the score in the bottom of the ninth, but the Loggers added two more in the top of the 10th to ultimately secure the victory. MJ Sweeney led Duluth with one run, three hits and four RBI, while Reagan Reeder had two runs, one hit and three RBI.

In game two, Duluth immediately scored two runs in the first inning. La Crosse then added one in the second, one in the fifth and two in the seventh for a 4-1 lead. Duluth responded with one run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but that was not enough, as the team trailed 4-3. Ethan Cole led the Huskies with one run, two hits and one RBI.

Then the Huskies and Loggers conclude their series at Wade Stadium on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
