If Kohli can lift 150-250 kg dumbbells, it doesn’t mean Rohit should too: Kapil Dev

If Kohli can lift dumbbells of 150 to 250 kg, it doesn’t mean Rohit has to do the same: Kapil Dev

Former World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev applauded the Mumbaikar for understanding his own limitations and playing within himself

Virat Kohli led a fitness revolution in Indian cricket. When he took over as captain, other players focused more on physical fitness, which in turn led to an increase in stamina. However, current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma remains an anomaly, whose skill level far exceeds his stamina or ability to work out in the gym.

Former World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev applauded the Mumbaikar for understanding his own limitations and playing within himself.

“If Virat Kohli can lift dumbbells of 150 kg and 250 kg, it doesn’t mean Rohit has to do the same. It seems like Rohit knows his game very well. He plays within himself,” Kapil said on an ABP News show.

“He is not like Virat Kohli and does not jump around. Rohit is aware of his limitations and there is no one better than him in that regard, not even Virat. Rohit has one pack and that is enough to hit big sixes,” the 65-year-old added.

Kapil Dev added that Rohit Sharma keeps the entire team happy. “Many big players come, but they come for themselves, even carry out the captaincy for themselves, but Rohit gets an extra tick because he keeps the entire team happy,” said the 1983 World Cup-winning India captain.

Rohit Sharma, who led India in the 2022 T20 World Cup and the 2023 Cricket World Cup, will have a shot at glory when India take on England in the semi-final of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup on June 28 (Thursday). .
