Eight-time world champion Stetson Wright moves closer to ProRodeo return

Eight-time world champion Stetson Wright is nearing his return to the rodeo arena, but his mother says he’s not quite there yet.

“He wants to come back 100 percent and doesn’t feel like he’s there yet,” said his mother Sharee. “He’s really bummed and wants to get back out there so badly and will definitely keep you updated when he gets there.”

Wright withdrew from the NFR in Round 2 and underwent surgery for a hamstring and hip injury on December 20.

After the operation he had to remain bedridden for six weeks and then walk with a cane for another twelve weeks.

Wright told that he is trying to break up the scar tissue and regain his full range of motion.

‘I’ve been on a bull and a horse. At the moment everything looks good,” he said on June 21, “and we will return here perhaps in a week or two.
