Choco Mucho brings in 6-1 to compensate for Sisi’s absence

CHOCO Mucho has welcomed its latest import for the PVL Reinforced Conference 2024 in Zoi Faki, Greece.

After back-to-back second-place finishes, the undermanned Flying Titans just got a much-needed shot in the arm for their depleted core on Wednesday.

“Wing spikers are determined and charged with power! Say hello to Zoi Faki who has the experience and power to give the team the much-needed boost,” the club wrote.

“Welcome to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans family, Zoi Faki!”

This is so good!

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter has five years of experience at the highest level of college volleyball in the American NCAA at the University of Pittsburgh and San Diego State University.

Faki led Pittsburgh to its deepest ever run in the USA NCAA women’s volleyball tournament when reaching the Elite Eight in the 2020-2021 season.

Zoi Faki from Choco Mucho

After a brief one-season stint in San Diego, she took her talents to Greece, where she played professionally for domestic clubs AO Thiras and, most recently, Apollon Kalamatas.

A tall task awaits the now 25-year-old and the rest of the Flying Titans in the import-laden conference without Alas Pilipinas-bound aces Sisi Rondina and Cherry Nunag, while the trio of Des Cheng (knee), Aduke Ogunsanya (knee) and Kat Tolentino (ear) are still recovering from their respective injuries.

The PVL Reinforced Conference 2024 starts on July 16.
