Auckland surf park gets green light in Dairy Flat

Developer Adventuur has received permission to build New Zealand’s first surf park in Dairy Flat.

The Auckland Surf Park will provide world-class sporting, leisure, hospitality and tourism facilities, celebrating Aotearoa’s surfing heritage and the area’s rural character.

With a focus on sustainability, the park will have a Spark data center and a 7-hectare solar park.

The excess heat from the data center, powered by renewable energy, will heat the surf lagoon all year round – a world first.

“We are grateful for all the support we have received, including from leading organizations and athletes,” said Adventuur.

The park aims to improve wellbeing and create an iconic destination for locals and visitors.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2024 and the park will open to the public in 2027.
