Anthony Gordon suffers a freak accident as England mocks his teammate

England winger Anthony Gordon has suffered a nasty gash to his face and cuts to his arms, hands and left knee after falling from his bike.

The Newcastle star headed out with some of his England teammates at their Euro 2024 base camp in Blankenhain, Germany, but suffered a fall. “He fell off his bike,” defenseman Marc Geuhi told reporters Thursday afternoon.

“The guys were going for a bike ride. I wasn’t actually there. I heard about it. I was actually talking to Anthony and I wasn’t really paying attention…turned around and that’s when I saw the huge gash on his face.” chin.

“But he’s doing well, he’s doing well, but he just fell off his bike. It was a joke in camp, but he’s doing well.”

Gordon, 23, played five minutes as a substitute late in the second half during England’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia on Sunday. With Phil Foden back home and preparing for the birth of his third child, Gordon could start the last-16 match against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.

The cut-up ex-Everton prospect was spotted in full training with his teammates on Thursday, although Kieran Trippier and Declan Rice were absent. The duo, who started all three of England’s group stage matches, have been following individual training programmes.

Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate may have to adjust his starting line-up for the match against Slovakia. However, he believes England have taken a step forward by drawing against Slovenia. Even though they failed to score for the first time at the tournament, they were lucky to finish first in the group after Denmark drew against Serbia.
